Seller's Notes
This Bristol 405 is an elegant British classic saloon, which has undergone a comprehensive six-year back-to-bodyshell restoration. It is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-six, producing up to 125bhp, which is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The extensive restoration included all new electrical wiring loom, which is fully documented, as well as fitting electric power steering and upgraded disc brakes. The car’s most recent service was carried out at around 42,700 miles, which involved engine oil and fluid changes. Only around 265 four-door Bristol 405 saloons were produced worldwide. This 405 is finished in metallic dark blue, over a cream leather-trimmed interior with red piping and carpets, accented by smart wood dashboard inserts. It rides on a set of 16-inch steel wheels with black accents and Bristol hub caps, shod with Kenda Radial Klever H/P tyres. The cabin features a two-tone brown and cream leather-trimmed steering wheel, Smiths dials, an updated stereo, two USB inputs and two 12-volt sockets, one of which powers a battery monitor. Accompanying the vehicle will be the original owner’s manual, workshop manuals and electrical wiring diagrams, along with a collection of maintenance invoices. Please note, the registration ‘SI 166 C’, will not be included in the sale. The seller is not aware of any bodywork damage. Its resprayed paintwork is reported to be in excellent condition, with minor stone chips visible around the front end. Inside, the retrimmed seat upholstery presents very well, though there are minor imperfections around the door shuts, on the edges of the steering wheel, and in the carpets, as well as an area of discolouration in the headlining. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults. Its most recent service was carried out at around 42,700 miles, which involved engine oil and fluid changes. This Bristol 405 Saloon is a well-presented example of the elegant British classic, which has been comprehensively restored. It now offers its new owner a relaxing and reliable driving experience, while retaining its delightful 1950s character. The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
