1962 Volkswagen Beetle Type 1

An iconic air-cooled classic car, finished in a lively colour scheme. It is powered by a 1.2-litre flat-four, delivering around 25kW and 81Nm of torque to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. This Beetle has been with the seller for the last four years, and is reported to be in a highly original condition throughout. It was exported from Japan to Australia in July 2019. The odometer indicates 38,223 kilometres, though this is not warranted. The car is finished in the stylish combination of light blue over a taupe vinyl-trimmed cabin with a body-coloured dashboard. It rides on a set of 15-inch steel wheels with chrome covers and whitewall tyres. The cabin features a lockable glovebox, opening front quarterlight windows, and a Bendix Sapphire radio. The car was serviced in May 2023 with a standard oil and filter check. Porsche specialist DHM Auto in Brisbane and Three Point Classic carried out standard services in March 2021 and March 2022 respectively. During the seller’s four-year ownership, the entire car was rewired and converted to the 12-volt system including updated alternator,wipers and other key electrical equipment This is a charming example of the instantly recognisable Volkswagen Beetle, which was largely unchanged throughout its impressive 65-year production run. The car was originally delivered to Japan before being exported to Australia in 2019 as the fruitful result of what the seller describes as “searching the globe to find a RHD Beetle in great condition”.
