Seller's Notes

This Morris Mini 850 is a characterful classic British city car, which has been enhanced with a number of discerning upgrades including a more powerful 998cc engine. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 998cc inline-four, fed by a Weber carburettor, delivering 41kW to the front wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. This example has been with the seller for one year, and it is currently on a Club Rego. The odometer is currently stuck on a reading of 10,999 Kms, and the true mileage is not known. This Mini 850 is finished in a timeless shade of Nurburg White with a contrasting metallic blue roof, over a black vinyl-trimmed interior. It rides on an aftermarket set of 10-inch Performance ‘Hotwire’ alloy wheels, which are fitted with Dunlop SP Sport R7 tyres. Equipment includes quad front spotlights, headlight grilles, bullet-style door mirrors, a wood-rimmed Tornado steering wheel, Cobra Classic bucket seats, Smiths gauges, a Pioneer CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, aftermarket speakers, an aluminium KAD gear knob, a Nokia hands-free unit, driver’s door card cup holders, and a Pioneer active subwoofer. The car has been enhanced with a Weber carburettor-fed 998cc inline-four engine, a Mini Cooper S disc brake conversion, Hi-Lo adjustable suspension, and a Kad quick shifter. The vehicle will be supplied with its REGO paperwork, the standard gear shifter, a couple of workshop manuals, and a selection of maintenance and parts invoices. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the roof has been previously repainted, there are touched-up blemishes present around the car, the rear seats look and feel their age, and there is wear on the dashboard trim. The car’s last roadworthiness test was conducted in June 2024, which is understood to have resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. This Mini’s most recent maintenance was carried out in May 2022 by Mini Works Australia, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, new spark plugs, the brake fluid and coolant renewed, and the rear suspension being adjusted. Prior to this, the car was serviced by a previous owner, with work including a carburettor tune, general servicing, a new fuel pressure regulator, and a door hinge restoration. During the car’s previous ownership, the driving lights and rear brake light were added, the taillight lenses were replaced with the correct Mini parts, and the front seats, steering wheel and gear selector were all replaced with the items pictured in the car. Other notable maintenance includes the seized driver’s side suspension being fixed. This Morris Mini 850 is an engaging and ever-popular classic British city car, which has been enhanced with a number of discerning upgrades. Presented with a timeless colour scheme, a more powerful 998cc engine, and a more driver-focused cabin, it would make an excellent addition to any assembly of iconic classics, and a wonderful companion for weekend drives, fair-weather cruising, and classic car show visits alike.
