Seller's Notes

This is a stylish classic four-seater beach buggy, finished in a vibrant metallic green hue and framed by an array of polished accessories. It is powered by an air-cooled 1.8-litre flat-four, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller reports that the total distance covered is approximately 19,750 miles (indicated). Based on a VW Beetle, this left-hand drive buggy is noted to feature Meyer Manx-inspired bodywork, and was imported from the USA. It is now reported to be registered in QLD as a four-seat vehicle. Its registration expires on 22 December 2024. The car is finished in green with a vivid metallic flake over a black vinyl-trimmed cabin housing two bucket seats and a quilted rear bench. It rides on a set of white steel wheels with chrome covers. Equipment includes a polished chrome windscreen surround and rollover bar, a Sunpro voltmeter, and a Wolfsburg-crested bonnet badge. Accompanying the sale is the vehicle’s import paperwork, a registration certificate, a Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice, and various maintenance invoices. Plate not included in sale but can be purchased for extra price upon sale. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: minor chips and marks on the fibreglass bodywork. The vehicle will be sold registered and with a valid QLD roadworthiness certificate for QLD Buyers. The car was last serviced in August 2023 at an indicated 19,355 miles by Browns Autobahn, who adjusted the brakes and speedometer cable position, cleaned the oil strainer, greased the front suspension points, tightened up the right-hand headlight, inspected the battery, filter, fluids, spark plugs, engine drive belt, tyre pressures, brake components, exhaust system, suspension and steering components, and replaced the engine oil, oil filter, oil strainer gaskets, sump plug washer, fuel filter, gearbox oil, and clutch cable. Browns Autobahn also replaced the front drum brakes with disc brakes in August 2023, which included bleeding the brake system. The seller reports that the clutch has also been replaced. (Receipt can be supplied) At the time of sale a small oil leak was noted and the seller will have this repaired as part of the roadworthy and transfer of the vehicle to the new owner This Volkswagen beach buggy combines durable and proven Volkswagen mechanical components with a head-turning fibreglass open-top bodyshell, offering a fun open-air experience for four people. Praised by the seller for its ease of ownership and reliability, it would make an enjoyable fair-weather companion, ideal for cruising to car shows or down to the beach. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy.
