Seller's Notes

This Ford Mustang 289 Fastback is a comprehensively re-engineered and supercharged classic American muscle car, built as a restomod. It is now powered by a supercharged 4.6-litre SVT Cobra V8, driving the rear wheels via a Tremec TKO six-speed manual transmission. This example was manufactured in Metuchen, New Jersey, and was originally a US-delivered model, which is now located in Australia. The odometer indicates 4,560 miles, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1965 This highly customised and professionally built restomod features a potent supercharged engine, upgraded drivetrain, and modern braking and suspension components. It is finished in black over a black leather-trimmed interior. It rides on 17-inch six-spoke alloy wheels finished in silver, framing Wilwood brake callipers and fitted with Toyo Extensa HP tyres. Key features now include a restomod supercharged 4.6-litre SVT Cobra V8, a Tremec TKO six-speed gearbox, a Hurst shifter, a shortened Ford 9-inch with 28-spline diff, and a front suspension rack-and-pinion conversion from a late-model Mustang. Other significant modifications include Wilwood six-piston callipers and ventilated discs at the front, Wilwood four-piston callipers and ventilated discs at the rear, a Wilwood master cylinder with VH40 remote booster, adjustable coilovers all round, a strengthened chassis using connectors and reinforcements, fabricated sump and exhaust manifolds, and a wiring harness in the boot quarter. It also features power steering, air conditioning, electric windows, SW gauges, and a hidden Custom Autosound stereo in the sun visor. Accompanying the car are a box full of invoices and receipts, and an engineer's certificate. One ignition key is included. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the car has undergone an extensive restomod conversion, including a bare-metal respray. The car was most recently serviced in August 2026 at an indicated 4,540 miles by TGS Performance Team Pty, which included an engine oil and filter change, a new gearbox shifter boot, a replacement thermostat, a Hiflow pod air filter, the coolant and brake fluid renewed, and a billet brake reservoir and mounting kit. The Ford Mustang 289 Fastback is an iconic American 'pony car', celebrated for its timeless styling and potent performance. This example is a professionally built and comprehensively re-engineered restomod, featuring a supercharged SVT Cobra V8 engine, a modern six-speed manual gearbox, and significant upgrades to its chassis, suspension, and braking systems. Ready to be enjoyed, it promises an exhilarating driving experience for its next enthusiast owner.
