Seller's Notes

This Mercedes-Benz 230 SL ‘Pagoda’ is a refined classic roadster, accompanied by the desirable factory hard-top. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 2.3-litre inline-six, delivering around 110kW to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The car was imported to Australia from the USA in October 2012. Having been kept in dry storage for 13 years, it has not been started in that time, and will require a thorough recommissioning service before returning to the road. The odometer shows 17,444 miles, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1967 This 230 SL is finished in an appealing shade of white, with a black convertible roof and a body-coloured hard-top, over a red ‘MB-Tex’ vinyl-trimmed interior, featuring perforated seat inserts, a white central dashboard, and chrome trim accents. It rides on a set of 14-inch steel wheels finished in white, wrapped in Regal Pacesetter tyres. The factory specification includes a two-bar steering wheel, heater and ventilation controls, a VDO analogue clock, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio. Accompanying the vehicle will be its vehicle import approval certificate. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. This Mercedes-Benz 230 SL ‘Pagoda’ is an elegant classic roadster, presented in a stylish colour scheme. Imported from the USA in 2012, it has been kept in dry storage for 13 years, and will require a thorough recommissioning service before returning to the road. Once complete, it would make a fine addition to any assembly of classics, and a stylish companion for weekend drives, fair-weather cruises, and classic car show visits alike. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
