Seller's Notes

This Land Rover Series IIA 109" is a rugged and characterful 4x4 utility vehicle, with some discreet modifications and an engine swap. It is now powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six Holden 186 Red motor, driving all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Reportedly an Australia-delivered car. The odometer shows 25,592 miles, though this is not warranted. The seller notes that the Holden engine swap is registered with the car, and that it is recognised by the Land Rover Owners Club as a common change for this generation, so remains eligible for historic registration. Build year: 1968 The car features the inboard headlight design with removable grille, and it is finished in a colour very close to the original Limestone, over a black interior. It rides on new 16-inch Wolf wheels, fitted with Toyo Open Country M/T 235/85R16 tyres, with a bonnet-mounted spare wheel fitted with a Toyo Open Country AT tyre. Equipment includes a removable hard top with an aluminium roof, and new Deluxe Series seats and lap belts. It also comes with two original front guards, a two-speed cable wiper conversion kit, and an LED rear worklight. Accompanied by a tool kit, spare parts, workshop manuals, two front guards, two keys and service documentation. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the car has been hand-painted and exhibits some dents consistent with its age and use, particularly on the doors and passenger-side quarter. It has been treated to a ‘rolling restoration’ programme, which has included painting of the chassis, and various consumables replaced. The roof has been fitted with new window seals. The seller states that it was most recently serviced in September 2026 at an indicated 24,800 miles, when all fluids and the transfer case output seal were changed and new handbrake shoes and a new adjuster were fitted. They report that the brakes have also been fully rebuilt, with new wheel cylinders and a Series III power rake conversion, including a new master cylinder, new rear brake hard lines and a booster fitted. An electric fuel pump has also been installed. The Land Rover Series IIA 109" is a truly iconic and robust 4x4, celebrated for its rugged simplicity and go-anywhere capability. This example features a period-recognised Holden 186 Red motor conversion and new Wolf wheels with Toyo Open Country M/T tyres, making it a characterful and capable choice for on- and off-road use. Ready for its next adventure, this Series IIA would make a charming companion for weekend excursions or classic car shows.
