Seller's Notes

This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a modified SportsRoof featuring a 393ci V8 and retained by its current owner for 11 years. Its naturally aspirated 6.4 litre V8 is paired with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently shows 99,999 miles* TMU. The Mach 1 joined the Mustang range for the 1969 model year, combining the SportsRoof body with V8 power, competition suspension and distinctive exterior and interior appointments. For 1970, the Mustang adopted a revised front end with two headlights and outboard air inlets, while the previous year’s rear-quarter scoops were removed. The Mach 1 featured ribbed lower-body mouldings and a honeycomb rear panel, retaining its role as a performance-focused model within the first-generation Mustang range. Finished in blue with black bonnet detailing, this example features a bonnet scoop, bonnet pins, a front spoiler, rear-window louvres and Mach 1 lower-body trim. It rides on 15-inch wheels with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tyres, with the seller specifying 215-section fronts and 255-section rears. The left-hand-drive cabin combines black upholstery with woodgrain-effect dashboard and door trim, a three-spoke steering wheel and an additional tachometer. The replacement engine is equipped with ICE ignition, while the supplied drivetrain specification includes a 4,000 rpm stall converter and a nine-inch differential with a 3.7:1 ratio. CalTracs rear suspension components are also fitted. The seller identifies themselves as the second Australian owner, advising that the previous owner purchased the Mustang in the United States and imported it to Australia. Their account places much of its earlier life in Texas. Servicing and maintenance during the current ownership have been undertaken by the seller, who reports fewer than 1,000 km travelled since installation of the Pavtek engine. Restoration work is described as including a closed-door respray, retrimming of the front seats, new carpet and replacement door trims, dash pad, instruments and dashboard fascias. The odometer has been replaced, and its displayed reading does not establish the vehicle’s total mileage. The seller describes the seats, carpets and interior fittings as being in good condition and reports no notable issues with the paintwork, wheels or exterior trim. They advise that no rust was found during the restoration and that they are unaware of any accident history. No current mechanical faults or required work are disclosed. During their ownership, the seller reports that the car has not been driven in the rain during current ownership. The Marti report and Import paperwork accompanies the vehicle. Original service books are not available. As per Trading Garage Terms and Conditions, although Trading Garage has completed the following checks bidders must satisfy themselves to the accuracy of the description and do any research they feel necessary before bidding. All listings are sold in Australian dollars. This vehicle will be sold unregistered. There are no security interests registered on the PPSR against the serial number and it is not recorded as written off or stolen.
