Seller's Notes

Hey Charger! Wheels magazine's Car of the Year in 1971! A success on the road and on the race track. And one of the best looking cars ever built in Australia! The mighty Valiant Charger. Now for sale a true SURVIVOR Valiant Charger 770 in Spring Gold running the matching numbers 265 Hemi and 3 speed manual gearbox. For sale in our Sydney Showroom. No surprise that originally Chrysler planned to produce the Charger at the rate of 20 per day. This was lifted to 43 per day following the rave reviews from the dealer network and the press. And subsequently to 83 a day which still wasn't enough to meet the demand. And it's not hard to understand why. The Charger was an Australian design success story. By shortening the wheelbase by six inches and chopping 13.2 inches from the overall length of the VH sedan, Chrysler engineers had tightened the entire car. The shorter car meant a reduction in weight of 300 lbs with an obvious increase in performance. And with wide sports wheels, the clever use of bright metal, the blunt tail with its inbuilt spoiler and, roofline ribs running down past the rear window all conspired to make the Charger a sales success. FOR SALE is an October 1971 built Charger 770 in SURVIVOR condition with all original Spring Gold factory paint and day one Light Tan interior. In the care of the current owner for many years, the Charger 770 runs the matching numbers 265 cui Hemi 6 cylinder engine and the factory 3 speed manual gearbox. Featuring mostly original factory acrylic paint with some touch ups, this Charger 770 is in excellent survivor condition throughout. Engine bay, door jambs and boot are also in day one condition. The Charger features a totally original interior with original seat coverings, door cards, hood lining, crash pad and the Charger has travelled a genuine 74,018 miles from new. This 770 is rare in that it has never had a radio fitted and quarter vent windows factory fitted and also is a 3 speed manual while most 770s were automatics. Mechanically the Charger runs and drives well. The factory matching numbers engine has been freshened and repainted in a previous ownership. Body number and compliance plate are as day one. The Charger is fitted with original steel wheels with dress rims and caps and red walled tyres. There is an original steel spare, tools and original boot mat in the boot. The Charger comes with a Valiant Infobase report stating the options fitted. This report also notes that this Charger is one of 43 with exact build specification. This well loved Charger comes with lots of great memories and is a super reliable genuine Aussie icon at an attractive asking price. Located in our Sydney Showroom for your inspection. (Ref: 6906) We are happy to arrange a video inspection of the car using WhatsApp. Please call for more details and note Enclosed Door to Door transport is available anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
