This 1972 Toyota Corona Mark II GSS is a rare high-performance variant of the second-generation coupe, built for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM). Power comes from a 102kW 2.0-litre ‘18R-G’ inline-four with dual Solex carburettors, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The car was exported to Australia, where it achieved compliance in May 2025. The odometer shows 25,759 km, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1972 A two-door coupe with a fastback-style roofline, the Mark II Corona GSS had distinct ‘coke bottle’ styling, and featured a strengthened clutch, larger front brakes and a limited-slip differential. This example is finished in white, with red pinstripes and chrome trim elements, over a black vinyl and cloth-trimmed interior, with a retrimmed Alcantara dashboard and headlining. It rides on a set of 14-inch Almex wheels, wrapped in Alliance 030EX tyres. Equipment includes push-out front quarter light windows, a three-spoke steering wheel, heating and ventilation controls, an analogue clock and a stereo. Accompanying the vehicle will be its ADR Compliance Inspection Report, its concessional RAV entry approval, its Department of Transport (WA) license vehicle examination checklist, and an engineer’s inspection report from March 2025.
