Seller's Notes

A very usable example of the marque’s first mainstream mid-engine car; which appears to be highly original, though with some modern conveniences. Under the engine lid is a 1.7 litre air-cooled flat-four engine producing up to 79bhp, coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. First registered in the USA in 1972, it was imported into Australia in 1993 from California, and it was subsequently converted to right-hand drive. The Porsche 914 features Signal Yellow paintwork, black leather upholstery, and factory installed air conditioning. This 914 features an aftermarket Momo steering wheel, modern JVC head unit, and 12-volt and USB power connectors that are recessed smartly into the centre console. The original California registration papers will be included, along with the Porsche wiring booklet. There is no known bodywork damage. The Signal Yellow paintwork is in generally good condition for its age, with some small chips and spots of surface rust as shown in the photo gallery, and one small dent on the passenger door. The black front bumper trim is slightly dented, and the passenger mirror is cracked. The vendor has mentioned the rearview mirror needs to be re-attached to the windshield, and that both window winders need replacement. Interior, the black leather seats have some minor surface wear and creasing, but present well overall. The gear knob is cracked, but the dashboard and door cards appear to be in good order. There are no known mechanical or electrical faults. The most recent maintenance consisted of a major service performed by Dandy Volks. Prior to this, the 914 has had regular services over the last decade; and the oil seals and fuel system have both been attended to in recent years. This Porsche 914 is a good example of the classic mid-engine sports car, featuring an eye-catching and period-correct colour scheme. While it benefits from a right-hand drive conversion for Australian roads, it appears to be largely original, and should prove to be a fun weekend driver or a very sound basis for some performance upgrades.
