Seller's Notes

This Dodge AT4 229 is an Australian-built light-duty pickup truck from the final year of production. Power comes from a 4.0-litre HEMI straight-six, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. According to a previous listing, this example spent much of its working life in the Wheatbelt town of Corrigin, and features the special-issue Corrigin registration ‘1973 CR’. The Dodge is currently registered under the Concessions for Classics Scheme (C4C/350) in Western Australia, which restricts how the vehicle can be used. To retain the concessional licence, the new owner must be a financial member of a DoT-approved motoring club, or the vehicle will need to be transferred to full registration. The odometer shows 87,301 miles, but this is not warranted. Build year: 1973 This Dodge is finished in white, with a wood-framed rear loadspace which houses a toolbox and a spare wheel. Another spare wheel is mounted on the underside of the vehicle. It rides on a set of black and silver 16-inch wheels, wrapped in mixed Delmax and Toyo tyres. The cabin features dark grey upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a Clarion stereo. Accompanying the vehicle will be a handful of invoices and parts receipts for mechanical work undertaken in the last 12 months. One ignition key will be supplied. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: it has received major restoration work; the body and chassis have been repainted; the engine bay is clean and detailed; the front bench seats and door cards have been recovered Recent mechanical work includes the replacement of the rear main seal in July 2025, the mechanical workshop observed damage on the spigot run, rear main seal area and big end bearing surfaces. The seller notes that the engine is noisy / rattles on idle (refer videos); however, they state that it pulls well and the truck is easy to drive with the floor shift manual gearbox, and that it can be highway driven at 100 km/h. In July 2025, the engine was removed and the rear main seal was replaced, along with the side plate gasket. The spigot bush and thrust bearings were also replaced. A new expansion tank was fitted in June 2025, and the coolant was renewed. In April 2025, a new water pump and thermostat were fitted, along with new engine mounts. Two new Toyo tyres were fitted in 2025. This Dodge AT4 229 is an Australian-built light-duty pickup truck from the final year of production, which has evidently benefited from some restorative maintenance. A rare find in the market, it should be a welcome entrant at any car show or event, as well as a faithful classic workhorse.
