Seller's Notes
This 1974 Mazda 1000 is a neat and original example of the classic compact sedan. A 985cc inline-four engine powers the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The car has previously been cosmetically refurbished. Finished in white over a black vinyl interior, this Mazda has a few exterior upgrades, including black decals down the flanks, a larger exhaust tail pipe, and four-spoke 13-inch alloy wheels. While the seats have been re-trimmed, the rest of the cabin is believed to be original. It is sold with original service coupons, owner’s handbook, log book and keys. The car has not been crashed or damaged. Its bodywork looks solid and straight. Some of the exterior trim is beginning to show its age, with rubber hardening and the outer layer of the moulding separating. Its white paintwork is in fair to good condition, with the car having had a prior respray. As can be seen in the photo gallery, paint has bee. The interior has been re-trimmed and is in good condition. Its seats present well, as does the roof lining, though the door cards may benefit from some attention. The car is offered in sound mechanical condition and has no known faults. VIS Rotary in Narellan, NSW performed a major service on the car in June 2021. The steering bushes were serviced, the air cleaner and rocker cover were restored, the radiator was reconditioned, and new fan belt, tyres, brakes, and overflow bottles were installed. Recent services were also carried out in April 2021 and December 2020. This 1974 Mazda 1000 is in sound original condition, running and driving well, and has a lot of potential. As it is, it would make a fun classic family cruiser, but it could also be an excellent base for more extensive restoration, or to be developed into a custom machine.
