Seller's Notes

This Rolls-Royce Corniche is a stylish and cosseting classic British open-top luxury convertible, which benefits from a previous engine rebuild by marque specialist John Vawser Motors. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 6.75-litre V8, which sends its power to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. This example was originally a UK-delivered model which was first registered in January 1975, which was later imported to Australia, where it passed compliance in 2014. It has only recently been acquired by the seller and the fourth Australian owner. This car is sold unregistered and without a roadworthy certificate. The odometer indicates 40,783 miles, though this is not warranted. Build year: 1975 Originally painted Nutmeg Brown, this Corniche Convertible is now finished in the appealing shade of Deep Ocean Blue, over a white leather-trimmed interior, featuring beige carpets, wood veneer inlays, and chrome trim highlights. It rides on a set of 15-inch steel wheels with brushed steel hub caps and polished lips, fitted with Cooper Lifeline Touring SLE whitewall tyres. Equipment includes a wood-rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel, Smiths gauges, speed control, electric windows, elasticated door card storage pockets, a Blaupunkt push-button radio, a VDO analogue clock, bi-level heater and ventilation controls, and fold-down front and rear armrests. This example has been fitted with a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. The car comes with a jack, and a history file containing invoices dating back over 20 years. Two master keys are included. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the previous owner advised the seller that the car was repainted as part of an insurance claim due to damage occurring in storage. The previous owner also advised that the interior was retrimmed in their ownership. The seller notes that the nearside rear window motor is not working and has been removed for repair or replacement, and the offside rear window is slow. An engine rebuild was carried out in 2020 by Rolls-Royce specialist John Vawser Motors, in Sydney. A new convertible roof was installed in 2013. This Rolls-Royce Corniche is a charismatic and opulent classic British luxury convertible, which benefits from new paint, a retrimmed interior and a recent engine rebuild. Presented with an appealing colour scheme, commanding yet refined styling, and boasting a very capable V8 engine alongside a luxurious cabin, it would make a fine addition to any assembly of British classics, and a cosseting companion for weekend cruising and classic car show visits alike.
