Seller's Notes

This Toyota Celica (RA28) LT2000 is a 1970s Japanese ‘liftback’ sports car, which was dubbed the ‘mini Mustang’ in period. Power comes from a 2.0-litre ‘18R-C’ inline-four, sending around 90kW to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The car was built during 1977, the final year of production for the first-generation Celica. It has reportedly been restored during the seller’s four-year custody, which included overhauls of the engine and electrics, as well as a bare metal respray. The odometer shows 97,275 km. This Celica is finished in Silver Metallic, over a black vinyl interior with wood trim inlays. It rides on 15-inch black and silver split-rim RS Watanabe wheels, wrapped with mixed Nexen Classe Premiere CP641 and BF Goodrich Radial T/A tyres. Equipment includes a three-spoke steering wheel and a Jeco clock. A partial service record will be included in the sale. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. The most recent service was completed at around 97,000 km by LLT-Racing, which included fluid changes and a carburettor setup. Prior to this, the engine and electrics were overhauled by LP Mechanical and LLT-Racing during the restoration process. The first-generation Toyota Celica was launched at the 1970 Tokyo Motor Show as Japan’s answer to the Ford Mustang, combining free-revving and lively inline-four engines with a responsive rear-wheel-drive chassis and the option of ‘liftback’ bodywork, as specified in this example, complete with louvres on the C-pillars. Having been restored and resprayed, this Celica is ready to be enjoyed as an entertaining weekend steer and a crowd-pleasing car show entrant for many years to come. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. This vehicle’s VIN has been checked against the Australian Personal Property Securities Register, and there is no security interest or other registration kind logged against the serial number. This vehicle has been checked through the Austroads NEVDIS system, and there are no markers under the written-off or stolen databases.
