A sophisticated drop-top cruiser which is reported to be in solid and very usable condition, benefiting from a recent service. It is powered by a 3.5-litre V8, coupled with a three-speed automatic transmission. A right-hand-drive example with three previous owners, this car has been with its current owner for two-and-a-half years. The odometer shows 173,901 km (108,057 miles). This example is finished in white over a blue vinyl-trimmed interior. It rides on a set of 14-inch alloy wheels shod in Hankook tyres. This example is believed to be totally original with no modifications from the factory specification. Its original service book is included, along with the factory toolkit and original hard-top roof. The white paintwork is in generally good condition, and is reported to have been repainted during the car’s lifetime. It presents well on the upper panels, though there are some signs of corrosion on the lower panels. There is some paint peel across the lower front valance, and around the fog lights. Some of the chrome would benefit from re-finishing; in particular the section above the rear number plate that shows obvious blistering. The original hard-top roof is included in the sale, but is said to be in poor condition and in need of refurbishment. The soft top roof generally looks to be in good order, though the rear window appears to show some age-related fading to the plastic as well as some creasing. Inside, the cabin presents well for its age, with the seats showing no significant wear. The centre console finish has dulled and the wood veneer is cracked and peeling in places. There is some general UV fading to the plastics and other minor trim wear, but it is a very usable interior. The seller notes that the fuse box cover under the steering wheel is missing. There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and no warning lights on the dashboard. The latest service was carried out during February 2022 at 173,713 km by Angel Smash Repairs. The work comprised of a routine service with an engine oil and filter change. Prior to this, the car is reported to have received two routine services in 2021. This Mercedes-Benz 350 SL is an elegant classic roadster which has been used as intended from new, and which is presented solid condition.
