Seller's Notes

This 911 SC is a striking example of the versatile Targa model, subtly upgraded with Turbo-style wide steel arches and custom seats. An Australian-delivered matching-numbers car; it was originally delivered new to John Newwell Porsche Centre in Darlinghurst, Sydney, in January 1980. As a 1980 model year car, it is powered by a 3.0-litre aluminium air-cooled flat-six engine producing around 152kW (204bhp), which is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows an indicated 187,186 km, although the previous owner noted that the odometer has been repaired. The 911 is finished in Grand Prix White with a contrasting black Targa roll hoop and removable roof panel. The Front and rear of the car has been widened with steel arches. The interior has been retrimmed, with black vinyl and houndstooth fabric centre panels over deep-bolster sport seats, and the same treatment for the rear fold-down seats. It rides on replica 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels with matte black centres. Features include a leather-trimmed Momo steering wheel, heated rear screen, high-level brake light, rear lap belts, a bespoke Gulf livery-inspired ignition surround, a Kenwood CD radio head unit, Kicker component speakers, and electric windows. The Porsche is accompanied by its logbook and spare wheel. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: There are some minor stone chips to the paintwork. The seller states that the car received a general service including billet sump replacement in January 2026 at an indicated 186,526 km. Prior to this, the car was given a service at 183,000 km in August 2022. During the previous owner’s three-year tenure with the car, it was fitted with new shock absorbers, suspension rubbers, alternator, alternator fan, warm up regulator, cold start valve, electrical aerial motor, heat exchangers and heater blower motor. This 911 SC Targa is a stylishly finished example of the ever-popular modern classic sports car, now featuring custom interior trim and Turbo-style front and rear arches. It is a desirable classic with its air-cooled engine and the versatility of the removable Taga roof, is ready to be driven, and should prove to be a rewarding companion for spirited weekend drives and longer tours alike.
