Seller's Notes

A well-presented example of Porsche’s flagship modern classic grand tourer, finished in a tasteful colour scheme, which has been used as intended from new. It is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine producing around 296bhp, which is sent to the car’s rear wheels via a rare five-speed manual gearbox. As a 1980 example, this 928 S was built in the model’s first year of production and is an original Australian-market example. This car is believed to have had just two owners from new. It is being offered for sale by its owner of 15 years who has used and maintained the car as intended. This 928 S is finished in Turquoise Green paintwork and boasts a retrimmed interior, with black leather covering the seats, as well as the centre console, the dashboard, and the door cards. It rides on the correct set of 16-inch alloy wheels with highly polished faces. Factory-fitted equipment includes electric windows, air conditioning and electrically adjustable seats. An aftermarket Kenwood radio/CD player has been fitted in the cabin. The car will be supplied with its original service book and a selection of past maintenance invoices. There is no impact damage present on the bodywork. The Turquoise Green paintwork is in generally very good condition, having been repainted during the car’s recent history. It presents with some very small stone chips on the car’s front end and a few light scratches, but no substantial marks or defects. Inside, the reupholstered cabin presents well, with little to no visible wear on the seats. The carpets have also been replaced and are free of any substantial wear, while the original steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake grip have a pleasing time-earned ‘patina’ on their surfaces. The vendor reports that the air conditioning system is not functioning, but there are no other known faults with the car, and no warning lights are showing on the dashboard. This 928 S’ latest service was carried out in 2021 at approximately 242,000 km. The work comprised of an engine oil and filter change. Prior to this, the car’s previous two services were carried out by Porsche in Melbourne, and the vendor reports that the invoices for this maintenance will be included with the vehicle. This Porsche 928 S is a well-presented example of the marque’s 1980s flagship grand tourer, which has been driven and enjoyed as intended throughout its lifetime. Having been fully repainted and retrimmed, this manual example presents particularly well given its age and mileage, and should make a wonderful companion for many more miles to come.
