This 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo is an eye-catching and extensively modified example of the iconic 1980s performance car, which has been enhanced with a raft of tasteful performance and cosmetic upgrades. Under the rear engine lid sits the ‘number’s-matching’ but upgraded turbocharged flat-six, which has been bored out to 3.4 litres and drives the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. It is reported to produce up to 419hp and 433lb-ft at the rear wheels. The odometer indicates 57,825 Miles (93,060 Kms), however this is not warranted. This left-hand drive 911 Turbo was imported to Australia in April 2016, and has been with the seller for two years. QLD engineering has been done, and the car is now ready to be road registered or tracked. This 911 Turbo is finished in the iconic Porsche hue of Guards Red over a black leather-trimmed interior, now featuring black cloth-trimmed Recaro SPG bucket seats with body-coloured backs. It now rides on an aftermarket set of 17-inch Kinesis K5 split-rim alloy wheels (17x8 and 17x10) and finished in satin black, framing red brake callipers and shod in brand-new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. The factory specification includes headlamp washers, bumper bellows, air conditioning, electric windows, and a sunroof. The original 3.3-litre flat-six has been bored out to 3.4-litres, and features ARP head studs, a Motec ignition system with a standalone ECU, an upgraded Kokeln KL128 turbocharger, a GT3 Cup fuel pump, R&R headers with a custom exhaust system, a Tial blow-off valve, and an upgraded BlownSix intercooler. Externally, this example now features a 930 3.8-litre rear spoiler, 993 manual door mirrors, and clear European-specification markers. Inside, the cabin has been upgraded with a custom-built Speedware Motorsports half roll-cage with a harness bar and guide hoops, a Momosteering wheel with a Sparco quick-release hub, Sparco five-point harnesses, RS-style door cards, a tilted speedometer, and a Porsche radio block-off plate. This 911 Turbo also features a sport stage 2 clutch, a front strut brace, and an air conditioning delete. The car will be supplied with a spare wheel, and all of its Australian compliance documents. There is also a small area of damage on the lower front splitter, blemishes on the rear bumper, and slight road rash on the leading edge of the rear wheel arches, with heavier chipping on the rear bumper wheel arch sections. Moving inside, the cabin is presented in generally fair shape. There is some wear on the steering wheel, damage on the dashboard trim around the central air vents, and stretching on the headlining. The retrofitted Recaro seats appear to be in great shape, with only modest signs of use. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults, and they state that there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. A previous service was performed at T&D less than 300kms ago. Other notable maintenance includes the engine being refreshed at around 51,000 miles. This 930-era Porsche 911 Turbo is a potent and purposeful example of the marque’s sought-after 1980s performance car, which has been enhanced with a raft of desirable performance and cosmetic upgrades. Presented in smart overall condition, with an iconic Guards Red finish, and boasting a bored-out and upgraded 3.4-litre turbocharged flat-six, it would make a distinctive addition to any assembly of performance icons, and an eye-catching and rewarding weekend toy, fair-weather cruiser, and track-day weapon for any enthusiast.
