Seller's Notes

This 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo is an iconic 1980s supercar, finished in a timeless colour combination. Under the engine lid sits a turbocharged 3.3-litre air-cooled flat-six, delivering around 221kW to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. This 911 Turbo was originally delivered to the UK, before later being exported to Australia, where it is now offered for sale. The car is not currently registered in Australia. It has covered approximately 60,000 miles from new. The clutch was replaced by PIE Performance in December 2017 at 58,686 miles. This example is finished in Zinc Metallic over a black leather and grey cloth-trimmed cabin. It rides on a set of 16-inch black Fuchs alloy wheels, fitted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres. Equipment includes recoil bumpers, a sunroof, air conditioning, sports seats, and an electric and heated passenger door mirror. Accompanying the sale is the service book, a folder of invoices dating back to 2004, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the spare wheel, and two keys. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. The seller notes that the gearshift is ‘sloppy’ in its operation and first gear is sometimes difficult to locate, the wing mirrors and the odometer backlight are non-functional, the air conditioning does not blow cold, the spare key does not start the car, the front speakers do not function, the tyre pump is missing, and the fuel flap is malfunctioning. A new driver’s floor carpet was fitted in 2020. The most recent roadworthiness inspection was reportedly conducted on 25 March 2021. The car was last serviced in August 2022 at 59,694 miles by marque specialist Autofarm, who replaced the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs, skimmed the brake discs, deglazed the front brake pads, renewed the rear brake pads, removed the front and rear wheel spacers, renewed the mixture adjuster and the fuel feed pipe, changed the brake fluid, checked the valve clearances, applied Waxoyl to all visible metal pipes, lubricated the door and bonnet seals, greased the door hinges, topped up the screen wash, and checked the tyre pressures. Prior to this, Porsche specialist Tom Ferguson performed an engine-out service in March 2021 at 59,253 miles, which included replacing the air conditioning clutch assembly, renewing the synchro rings, repairing the turbocharger scavenge pump, and replacing the air horns. Marque specialist PIE Performance previously serviced the car in December 2017 at 58,686 miles, which included repairing wiring to the engine loom, fitting a new clutch, and replacing the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, rear wheel bearings, gearbox gaskets, shaft sealing ring, guide tube, rocker cover gasket set, selector shaft seal, driveshaft bolts, timing chain cover gaskets, oil pump belt, driveshaft seals, gearbox oil, engine pulley belts, air pipes, turbocharger sealing ring, HT leads, rotor arm, distributor, turbocharger exhaust gasket, and intercooler seal. The invoice came to £5,811.80. Fitted with a replacement clutch as part of a major service carried out less than 2,000 miles ago, it has since been serviced on two further occasions by marque specialists. Whilst the new owner may wish to undertake some other minor corrective works, it would make a natural addition to any 911 collection once completed, and a wonderfully analogue weekend plaything for any classic performance car aficionado. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
