Seller's Notes

This W123-generation Mercedes-Benz 280 TE is a well-engineered classic station wagon, which has been professionally converted into an elegant hearse by coachbuilders Hillier by Design. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 2.8-litre straight-six, delivering around 136kW to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. This 280 TE was originally a UK-delivered model, which was imported to Australia, where it was professionally converted into a hearse by coachbuilders Hillier by Design, and was used at a funeral home in North Brisbane. This example has been with the seller for one year, and the odometer shows 136,158 miles from new. This example was originally finished in Light Ivory, though is now presented in a timeless shade of black with black vinyl roof, over a beige vinyl and cloth-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard and centre console, punctuated by wood veneer trim inlays. It rides on a set of 14-inch steel wheels with chrome and body-coloured hubcaps, shod in Nankang Toursport NS whitewall tyres. The factory specification includes cruise control, electric windows, air conditioning, and a green top-tinted windscreen. The car now features a bespoke rear roof section with full-length windows, a full-length roof rack, cut-down rear passenger doors, an extended floor pan and bodywork, a sliding glass cabin partition, rear load-bay lighting, and a bespoke carpeted rear coffin bed with metal rollers, securing pins, and padded stops. The car comes with a spare wheel. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: a few scuffs and scratches. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults, and they state that there are no warning lights on the dashboard. Notable maintenance includes an engine oil change, and new tyres.
