Seller's Notes

This Porsche 928 S is a smart example of a great modern classic grand tourer. It is powered by a 296hp 4.7-litre V8, which drives the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. A low-mileage car with just 109,719 km on the odometer, it presents in excellent condition inside and out. It is believed that all panels are original and there are no obvious signs of rust. The Red Wine metallic paintwork is also in very good condition with a glossy finish, and with only minor signs of stone chipping and a few marks on the nose cone, consistent with the 928’s age and mileage. The front valance and rear spoiler are in excellent condition, as are the polished alloy wheels which contrast beautifully against the deep maroon paintwork. The window seals and door rubbers present in good condition. The leather interior presents in highly original condition with only minimal signs of wear. Original carpets and floor mats feature throughout, with the Porsche electric seats displaying patina, but no heavy discolouration. The dashboard is in good overall condition, though there is evidence of some minor cracking on the top panel around the air demister outlets, a common occurrence for Australian-delivered examples. The instrument binnacle houses the original 928 cluster and displays no warning lights. The only modern touch to feature in the interior is an updated Kenwood stereo head unit. With consistent original service history, this example has been maintained to a good standard and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian. The 928 S comes with its original service booklets and a folder of more detailed maintenance reporting from the last several years. Most recently, the 928 S was serviced in May 2020 where major works were undertaken to replace the steering rack and service the automatic gearbox, along with general maintenance items. Prior to this, a service in March 2018 saw both window guides replaced and repairs to the climate control system. A major belts service was completed at 74,500km. Overall the Porsche presents in excellent working order, though attention is drawn to the interior heater which is currently not working, and an intermittent electrical fault with the exterior mirror switches. All other switchgear is currently fully operational. The Porsche 928 S is a smart 1980s GT car that makes light work of long road trips. This low-mileage example is ready to drive and enjoy, and is sure to impress on display at any number of car meets with its classic styling and attractive colour scheme.
