This Nissan Pulsar Exa 50th Anniversary is a fun, compact modern classic, which remains remarkably original and with relatively low mileage from new. Its engine is the turbocharged 1.5-litre E15ET inline-four, producing up to 85kW / 113bhp, and driving the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. In single ownership for most of its life, the car is in good order, with an especially impressive interior. The odometer shows 129,046 km. The 50th Anniversary models marked five decades since the founding of the Nissan Motor Company in Tokyo. Specified in grey, the car retains the original black decals on the headlights and flanks, as well as the black plastic front and rear bumpers. It rides on 13-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Yokohama tyres. Inside, there is black and blue cloth upholstery, a three-spoke ‘Turbo’ steering wheel, the original radio cassette stereo, manual winding windows, and a heated rear screen. Accompanying the car is an excellent service history, with documents dating right back to first registration in February 1985. There are receipts for maintenance as well as registration paperwork. There is no known prior bodywork damage. Indeed, the grey paintwork is thought to be all original, and is in good order, with the seller noting some chips on the bonnet, minor car park scuffs on the passenger side rear and driver’s side front corner, and modest imperfections elsewhere. The interior is in superb condition for its age, with minor wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster, but no significant discolouration or damage. A small patch of wear is also visible around the heel area on the driver’s carpet. All of the electrics work, and there are no known mechanical faults. The last documented maintenance was in August 2014 at 128,227 km, when Cheltenham Service Centre PL carried out a full 10,000km service. The car has only covered around 800 km since this maintenance, and more recently the owner has had the turbocharger fully rebuilt. Service receipts are also on file from February 2010 at 120,000 km, and July 2006 from 115,626 km - the latter included brake discs and pads. The drive belt was last renewed at 100,337 km, while the clutch plates and flywheel assembly were last replaced at 94,050 km in 1998. This Nissan Pulsar Exa Turbo 50th Anniversary is a lesser-seen special edition, which has evidently been well preserved over the years, thanks no doubt to long-term cherished ownership. It remains original and unmodified, and is presented in very good order for its age. This car would be a fun addition to any assembly of modern classic Japanese cars, and is a rare sight on today’s roads The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
