Seller's Notes

This Porsche 928 S is a good example of the stylish modern classic grand tourer, with an upgraded engine, and which is now offered from long-term ownership. Power comes from a replacement 5.0-litre V8, coupled to a four-speed fully reconditioned automatic gearbox. Its original 4.7-litre V8 was subject to a refurbishment, though after various complications, a 5.0-litre unit was fitted in its place, with wiring installed by a former Porsche technician. The car is also now equipped with adjustable Koni shocks with King springs. The service book was stamped regularly until 2004, before the car was placed into the care of a certified mechanic, who maintained it at home. It was previously registered on private plates, which are being retained by the seller. This Porsche 928 S is finished in Guards Red, with re-trimmed black half-leatherette upholstery, matching carpets and a set of replacement floor mats. It rides on a set of 16-inch wheels, which are wrapped in Bridgestone Supercat tyres. Factory equipment includes electrically adjustable seats, a sunroof, and rare dual air conditioning with rear system. A Bluetooth and USB-compatible Sony stereo has been installed, along with a set of Clarion speakers. It will be accompanied by its original owner’s manuals, service book and toolkit (minus one spanner) and spare wheel, along with a record of maintenance invoices. There has been no known bodywork damage. It has been fitted with a brand-new OEM bib spoiler and grille. Some corrosion is visible on the sills and bonnet edges, alongside age-related blemishes on the front end and door panels, the Guards Red paintwork otherwise presents very well. Inside, the front seats have been reupholstered though do show some creasing, as do the rear seats which also present indentations, in keeping with the car’s age and mileage. Various minor scratches and scuffs can be seen on the door card plastics. The dashboard and instrument pod have been recovered. The driver’s electric seat switch only works one way, though reversing the polarity on the seat allows it to adjust both forwards and backwards. The rear hatch release button is inoperative. The brake sensor warning light is currently illuminated, but this is believed to be an error. The car was serviced regularly until 2004, and has been looked after by a certified private mechanic ever since. Its most recent recorded service was in July 2004 at 158,447 km, where technicians at Chateau Moteur Porsche replaced the cambelt, water pump and coolant. The replacement 5.0-litre powerplant has had a recent cam belt.and waterpump replacement. Other notable mechanical work includes the total rebuild of the transmission, a new aluminium radiator, new stainless-steel twin exhaust (4k), and installation of the adjustable Koni shock absorbers and King springs.
