Seller's Notes

A very well-presented example of the sought-after modern classic coupe, fresh from a recent service carried out in February 2022. The ‘M Technic 1 Sportpaket’ version of the E30 325i was built for around 10 months only, with 290 examples believed to have been produced. Under the bonnet is a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated ‘M20’ inline-six engine, delivering 170bhp and 164lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. This right-hand drive 325i was originally delivered to the UK, and was exported to Australia early in its life. Its original MPH speedometer was replaced with a KPH unit in 2017. This 325i was specified from the factory as a Sport model, which brings with it multi-spoke BBS alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, M-Technic side skirts, 15mm lower suspension, and a close-ratio gearbox. It is finished in Diamantschwarz metallic over a cream leather-trimmed interior, and rides on a correct set of 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, shod with recently fitted Dunlop tyres. The factory specification includes an electric sunroof, air conditioning, a check-control panel, and electric front windows. The car has been fitted with Ground Control coilover suspension and a custom exhaust. Its original stereo has been replaced by a modern Bluetooth-compatible JVC unit, and additional JVC speakers have been mounted in the rear parcel shelf. Included in the sale is the original owner’s book pack, service book, a printed copy of the Mtech1 booklet, jack, spare wheel, and toolkit. The appropriate cherished registration ‘MTECH1’ is included in the sale. There is no known bodywork damage. Rust repairs were carried out to the sunroof in December 2021, and the roof was subsequently resprayed down to the bottom of the windscreen pillars. The Diamantschwarz paintwork is in excellent overall condition and presents with a deep shine. There is a small chip next to the passenger door, a small scuff on the offside corner of the rear bumper, and a few use-related stone chips to the car’s front end. The alloy wheels are in very good order and the tyres were replaced in November 2021, covering only around 500 kilometres since. Moving inside, the cabin presents very well overall. There is some creasing on the seats, a small indentation on one of the door cards, a minor tear in the roof lining, and a small crack on the dashboard. The owner states that the heater tap is temperamental, and that the air conditioning system requires a re-gas. This 325i’s most recent service was carried out in February 2022 at 148,360 kilometres, when German car specialist GSpec in Bassendean replaced the engine oil, oil filter, steering boot, and electric aerial. They also adjusted the sunroof and diagnosed a heater issue. In December 2020 at 144,967 kilometres, the engine oil, oil filter, radiator and hoses were replaced. Previously, in November 2017 at 141,425 kilometres, a service was carried out by BM Techniks in Bayswater, WA, which included renewing the engine oil and filter, oil pressure switch, spark plugs and brake fluid, and re-gassing the air conditioning. The owner states that the timing belt was last replaced in March 2012 at 132,300 kilometres. In December 2021, rust repairs were made on the roof which was subsequently resprayed. Four new tyres were fitted in November 2021, and a wheel alignment was carried out. The exhaust was replaced in October 2021. In August 2021, the original MTech1 steering wheel, gear knob and alloy wheels were retrofitted, and the sunroof drains were unblocked. A new fan belt and air conditioning belt were installed in June 2021, the power-steering belt was adjusted, and the electric window mechanisms were lubricated. In May 2021, a new bonnet gas strut, radiator shroud, coolant level sensor and wiring were installed.
