Seller's Notes

This Mercedes-Benz (W126) 300 SE is a well-presented modern classic luxury saloon, in a sleek Arctic White hue and fitted with some desirable options. Under the bonnet sits a 3.0-litre straight-six engine, developing around 132kW and sending it to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. This example has been with its current owner for four years. The odometer indicates 133,979 kilometres from new. This example is finished in Arctic White over a Grey leather-trimmed interior with burr walnut inlays, and with a contrasting black steering wheel and gear knob. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels, fitted with a set of Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Desirable features on this example include alloy wheels, a power sunroof, cruise control, self-levelling suspension, automatic climate control, and a driver’s airbag. The original owner’s manuals accompany the sale, as well as two keys with remotes. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the car has previously suffered minor rear bumper damage which has since been repaired. The car comes with original service books and supplementary service book, which the seller reports – along with the accompanying file of service invoices – demonstrates that the car has been pampered in the hands of its collector owners over the years. This W126-generation Mercedes-Benz 300 SE offers a great opportunity to acquire a solid example of this attractive 1980s saloon, which is reported to be in very good overall condition. Being a 1989 model-year car, this represents the latest model series to be shipped to Australia and it comes with the upgrades of soft leather and driver’s side airbag. The car is currently registered with Historic plates and is a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club (NSW) where it has been presented in a number of events. In the seller’s own words: “It is truly a beautiful example of the W126 series”. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. This vehicle’s VIN has been checked against the Australian Personal Property Securities Register, and there is no security interest or other registration kind logged against the serial number. This vehicle has been checked through the Austroads NEVDIS system, and there are no markers under the written-off or stolen databases.
