Seller's Notes

This is a tastefully specified example of the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC, built in limited numbers to homologate the model for Group A competition. In the Japanese Domestic Market this model was known as the GT-Four RC, while it was sold in Australia as the ‘Group A Rallye’ and in Europe as the ‘Carlos Sainz Edition’. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, delivering 153kW and 275Nm of torque to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. Out of 5,000 units, 1,800 were for the Japanese market, 3,000 were allocated to Europe, 150 were delivered to Australia, 25 for Singapore, and a small number to other markets. This example was first registered in Japan, and the seller notes that it obtained Australian compliance in March 2025. The odometer shows 42,697 km, which the seller believes to be the genuine total from new. Build year: 1991 The specification included a power increase to 153kW and 275Nm of torque thanks to a water-cooled intercooler, an additional air cooler, and modified cooling of the camshaft drive belt. Other features include a permanent four-wheel-drive system with a rear Torsen limited-slip differential, a lighter, more aerodynamic front bumper, a short-shift gearbox with triple cone synchromesh on gears two and three, shortened clutch pedal travel, and sports suspension. This example is finished in Nimbus Grey Metallic over a black cloth-trimmed cabin with patterned seat inserts and floor mats. It rides on an aftermarket set of white 16-inch O.Z. Racing wheels, fitted with Autogreen Sport Chaser SC2 tyres. Equipment includes a four-spoke Momo/Toyota steering wheel, a cassette stereo, and air conditioning. Aftermarket additions include an Ultra Full Auto turbo timer, and the O.Z. Racing alloy wheels. The original handbooks will be included in the sale. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. The most recent technical inspection was reportedly completed in March 2025. This Celica’s most recent service was completed in March 2025, when Sydney Commercials replaced the engine oil, oil filter and coolant. Prior to this, the seller reports that the car was serviced in 2024. The previous services were completed in 2023 at an indicated 42,300 km, in 2022 at an indicated 42,051 km, in 2021 at an indicated 41,500 km, and in 2020 at an indicated 40,000 km. The cambelt was reportedly changed in 2008. This Toyota Celica GT-Four RC (also known as the Group A Rallye or ‘Carlos Sainz Edition’) is a rare limited-run homologation special. One of 5,000 units built, and one of 1,800 allocated to the Japanese market, it will surely make a desirable addition to any collection of Japanese modern classics, or an eye-catching car show companion for its next owner.
