Seller's Notes

This R129-generation Mercedes-Benz SL 280 is a comfortable and refined open-top grand tourer, accompanied by the detachable hard top. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.8-litre inline-six, delivering 142kW to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. This SL 280 was originally delivered to the UK before later being exported to Australia, where it is now offered for sale. The car is finished in Pearl Blue Metallic over an Anthracite leather-trimmed cabin. It rides on a set of split-rim 19-inch aftermarket alloy wheels, fitted with Kumho tyres. Equipment includes electrically adjustable front seats, air conditioning, an electrically deployable rollover bar, and an Alpine radio-cassette player. The air conditioning was updated to ‘warm climate’ mode and a KM/H instrument cluster was installed and calibrated as part of the car’s modifications for Australia. Accompanying the sale is the service book, shipping and compliance paperwork, detachable hard top, first aid kit, warning triangle, and original wheels. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. The car was last serviced in November 2013 at 75,485 kilometres by North Coast Star. Prior to this, Dave Walton Autos carried out a service in May 2006 at 62,915 kilometres. Mercedes-Benz Grand Motors Prestige in Southport, Queensland, previously serviced the car in August 1999 at 45,707 kilometres.
