This Rover Mini Cooper is a particularly well-preserved example of the characterful modern classic British city car, offered with remarkably low mileage. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 1.3-litre fuel-injected inline-four, producing around 63bhp and driving the front wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 18,199 Kms from new, which is supported by a Car VX history report. A right-hand drive, Japanese-market example, this Mini Cooper was assigned an auction grade of 4B when it was sold. The car has recently been imported into Australia, but has not yet been registered. This Mini Cooper is finished in the iconic shade of British Racing Green with a white roof and bonnet stripes, over a black leather and patterned cloth-trimmed interior, featuring red piping on the seats and door cards, and handsome wood veneer trim. It now rides on an aftermarket set of 10-inch four-spoke split-rim alloy wheels finished in gold with polished lips, which are shod in Dunlop SP10 tyres. The factory specification includes a heated rear windscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel, manually operated windows, green dials, and air conditioning. This Mini Cooper has been upgraded with wheel arch and sill protection strips, a centre exit exhaust pipe, gold-effect interior vent surround trims, a steering guard, the previously mentioned aftermarket alloy wheels, and a Pioneer Carrozzeria CD stereo with USB and auxiliary inputs. The car will be accompanied by the Car VX history report, the Japanese auction report, and the Japanese maintenance history. The British Racing Green paintwork is described by the seller as being in excellent overall condition, though there is a slight imperfection on the boot handle, the sill protection strips are shrinking, and there is minor pitting on the front badge. There are also various scuffs, scratches, on the aftermarket alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is presented in excellent order given the car’s age. There is mild creasing on the front seats, cracking on the wood veneer upper door card trims, discolouration on the dashboard switches, and a few other minor blemishes and scuffs around the trim, but no major wear. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults with the car, and they state that there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. This Mini Cooper’s most recent maintenance was carried out at around 14,000 Kms, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, and an air conditioning system regas. This Rover Mini Cooper is an appealing and particularly well-preserved example of the beloved modern classic British city car, offered with two owners from new and remarkably low mileage. Presented in excellent overall condition, with a quintessential British Racing Green finish, and enhanced with a few tasteful upgrades, it would make a fine addition to any collection, and once registered it will no doubt be an enjoyable companion for retro daily driving, weekend jaunts, and car show visits alike.
