Seller's Notes

This ST205-generation Toyota Celica GT-Four Group A Rallye is a lauded and engaging modern classic rally-inspired Japanese homologation special. Under the bonnet sits a turbocharged 2.0-litre ‘3S-GTE’ inline-four, delivering around 178kW to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Toyota built 2,500 units in 1994 for homologation purposes, allowing the marque to enter the GT-Four as a Group A car in the World Rally Championship. Out of the 2,500 examples built, 77 were allocated to Australia and dubbed the ‘Group A Rallye’, rather than the ‘WRC Edition’ as it was known in other markets. The odometer shows 295,039 km. The ST205-era Celica GT-Four was originally produced to homologate the model for use in the Group A World Rally Championship, and features an aluminium bonnet, ‘Super Strut Suspension’, and a more powerful engine with a full-time all-wheel drive system. It features extras such as all of the plumbing required to activate an anti-lag system, a water spray bar and pump for the front intercooler, a basic water injection system, insulation between the engine and charge cooler, a small bonnet-mounted spoiler under the windscreen and a larger rear wing. Australian-market cars came with a leather interior and limited-edition numbered plaque mounted ahead of the gear knob; this car is number 70 of 77. It is finished in Glacier White, over a black leather interior. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Goodyear Assurance tyres. Equipment includes the optional air conditioning system and a factory-installed Pioneer head unit. A HKS Silent Hi-Power muffler has been installed. Accompanying the vehicle will be its owner’s manuals, service book, HKS handbooks, a spare wheel, and a set of Castrol decals. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: marks on the driver’s seat. The most recent technical inspection was reportedly completed in June 2024. The most recent service was completed in January 2024 at 294,500 km, when LLT-Racing replaced the fluids and flushed the fuel tank. The seller notes that the car was given an annual minor service while kept as part of a collection. The timing belt was replaced in May 2016 at 291,000 km. SUMMARY This Toyota Celica GT-Four Group A Rallye is a rare rally-derived homologation special, which marks one of 2,500 examples ever produced, and number 70 of just 77 allocated to the Australian market. Benefitting from a timing belt replacement within the last 5,000 km, it would make a fitting addition to any collection of imported Japanese performance cars, and a thrilling companion for spirited weekend drives.
