Seller's Notes

This Celica GT-FOUR is a recently imported example of the early ST205 model, which was made famous through Toyota’s rally success in the ‘90s. It features a turbocharged 252bhp 2.0-litre 3S-GTE inline-four petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Imported from Japan and registered in Australia in July 2021, it is offered in good order following a very recent service. Introduced in 1994, the ST205 was a true homologation special with just 2,500 built, featuring an updated and more powerful motor. The car has been maintained in unmodified, original condition. An aftermarket JVC Bluetooth head unit has been installed. Sold with the Japanese guidebook and Celica user’s manual as well as a remote for the JVC head unit. To the seller’s knowledge, the bodywork has no prior damage. Exterior trim is in good condition and is highly original, including the factory three-spoke wheels. There is a small scrape on the exhaust tip, minor patina on the carbon side panel of the rear wing, and corrosion on a rear boot strut. The Celica has received some retouching or respray work in the past to ensure that it presents well, and the Baltic Blue paintwork is in good condition overall. Minor stone chips are noted at the front, and there is a flaw above one of the windows, documented in the images. Inside, the car has been well preserved. Textiles have faded slightly commensurate with their age and originality. The gear knob leather shows wear from use, and the centre console and driver’s side door lining show some pockmarking. No electrical faults have been detected. A roadworthy check was conducted on 7 July 2021 and the car passed without issue. Promax Auto performed a routine service on the car in July 2021 at 83,000 km, shortly after the vehicle arrived in Australia, replacing the engine oil and filter, brake fluid and coolant. Mechanically sound and presented in highly original condition, this low-mileage 1994 Toyota Celica GT-FOUR is a great opportunity to acquire a rare homologation model in its more powerful Japanese Domestic Market specification. It would be a fantastic addition to any assembly of modern classics, and it needs nothing before taking to road. The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
