1995 BMW 8 Series E31

This 1995 BMW 840Ci (E31) is presented with its original service books and has been held by the current owner for approximately four years. It is powered by a 4.0 litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 210 kW (286 hp), paired with a five speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The odometer currently displays 296,171 Km. Introduced in 1989, the E31 8 Series was developed as BMW’s flagship grand touring coupé and sat above the contemporary 6 Series in the company’s model range. Its low roofline, pillarless side glass, pop up headlights and long bonnet gave the model a distinctive profile, while its construction incorporated extensive electronic control systems and a multi link rear suspension arrangement. The 840Ci joined the range as the V8 powered alternative to the twelve cylinder 850 models, combining the E31’s four seat coupé body with BMW’s M60 engine. Production of the E31 continued until 1999, with the model remaining one of BMW’s most recognisable designs from the period. Finished in metallic silver over a black leather interior, this example is fitted with silver multispoke BMW alloy wheels and retains the E31’s characteristic frameless side glass and pop up headlights. The cabin features timber trim across the dashboard, centre console and doors, electrically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control and an electric sunroof. Its driver focused dashboard angles the centre controls towards the front occupants, while the rear compartment provides two individual seats. The seller advises that the vehicle has had three previous owners and has been in the current ownership for approximately four years. Servicing has been completed by Peek Performance and a local mechanic, while the original service books and maintenance receipts remain with the vehicle. A new battery has also recently been installed. The seller describes the metallic silver paintwork, exterior trim and black leather interior as being in good overall condition. The cabin displays wear consistent with the vehicle’s age and recorded mileage, as shown in the photographs. Included with the vehicle are its original service books, owner’s manual, maintenance receipts, toolkit and spare key. The additional spare parts referred to by the seller are not included with the vehicle as part of this auction.
