1995 Mercedes-Benz SL280 R129

This Mercedes-Benz (R129) SL280 is a charming and elegant modern classic roadster, presented in a striking factory colour, and which has reportedly had one private owner from new. It is powered by a 2.8-litre naturally aspirated inline-six, delivering 142kW to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The odometer indicates 69,107 km, however this is not warranted. It is currently unregistered. Build year: 1995 This SL280 is finished in Imperial Red, with a black soft-top roof and a body-coloured hard-top cover, over a black leather-trimmed interior with contrasting dark wood veneer accents. It rides on 16-inch eight-hole alloy wheels, wrapped in Rovelo Strata R1 tyres. Equipment includes electrically adjustable front seats, electric windows, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, a cassette stereo, a ten-CD changer, and a fire extinguisher. It will be accompanied by a previous Queensland registration plate with the original Grand Motors Gold Coast frame, the owner’s manuals and service book, an infrared card spare key and a warning triangle. Specific notes from the seller include: small stone chips across the front end of the car; a small section of paint has flaked off on the lower front bumper; a small paint blemish on the left-hand jacking cover; small marks on the rear bumper; small wear marks on the seat bolsters; small portions of leather are lifting on some trims in the rear, and near the glass on the hard top; the head unit in the car stopped working during our ownership - we suspect due to limited vehicle use and the battery going flat, though we have not had this investigated; the hydraulic rams in the roof system do not work, which stops the removable hard top from being removed as the rams are required to push it upwards - we were not able to find someone local to fix this in a cost-effective manner, so will be selling the car as-is. The seller notes that the car passed a roadworthiness inspection in March 2025, which has since lapsed. The car was last serviced in May 2011 at 58,340 km by Westech Motorsport.
