Seller's Notes

This ST205-generation Toyota Celica GT-Four is an impressive example of the iconic rally-derived performance hero, offered in highly original condition. Under the bonnet sits the turbocharged 2.0-litre ‘3S-GTE’ inline-four, delivering around 188kW to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 88,126 Km from new, certified with all Japanese documentation. This example was originally a Japan-delivered model, which was imported to Australia in 2021, and is now offered for sale via the trade. The ST205-era Celica GT-Four was originally produced to homologate the model for use in the Group A World Rally Championship, and featured an aluminium bonnet, ‘Super Strut Suspension’, and an updated and more powerful engine with a full-time all-wheel-drive system. This example is finished in the refined hue of Alpine Silver Metallic over a grey cloth-trimmed interior, with patterned seat inserts. It rides on the correct set of 16-inch three-spoke alloy wheels, shod in Yokohama GP Grand Prix tyres. The factory specification includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a digital clock, a Toyota-branded CD and cassette stereo, automatic air conditioning, an electric sunroof, electric windows, and electrically adjustable folding door mirrors. The car comes with a spare wheel, the owner’s manual, the service booklet, a dealer directory, and a collection of maintenance invoices. The Alpine Silver Metallic paintwork is described by the seller as being in excellent overall condition, with no noted marks or blemishes. Moving inside, the cabin is presented in impressive order given the car’s age and usage, though the seller notes slight fading on the seats. There is also some stretching on the driver’s seat outer thigh bolster, and a few very minor blemishes around the trim, but no major wear. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults, and they state that there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. This Celica GT-Four’s most recent major service was carried out at around 87,000 Kms, which included an engine oil and filter change, new spark plugs, brake fluid, and four new brake hoses. The seller notes that the cambelt was replaced in 2020. This ST205-era Toyota Celica GT-Four is a remarkably well-presented example of the iconic rally-derived performance hero, offered in impressive, highly original condition. Now a rare modern classic, with a potent turbocharged engine coupled to an engaging five-speed manual gearbox and a sure-footed four-wheel drive system; it would make a discerning addition to any assembly of Japanese performance icons, and a rewarding all-season daily driver, weekend toy, and car show companion. The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
