Seller's Notes

This BMW Z3 Roadster 2.8 is a tasteful sports car, which is presented in good condition. It is powered by the 2.8-litre M52 inline-six, producing around 142kW and 280Nm, and sending it to the rear wheels via a slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission. This example has been with its current and third owner for nine years. The odometer indicates 156,265 kilometres from new. This Z3 is finished in the timeless hue of Artic Silver with a black convertible hood and black door handles, over a black leather-trimmed interior featuring ‘chrome line’ interior trim, with fine wood trim inlays and black velour floor mats. It rides on a set of 16-inch ‘Z Star’ alloy wheels, which are shod in Supercat tyres. The factory specification includes the M Sport steering wheel, air conditioning, a BMW Business stereo, provision for a 6CD changer, and a 25% locking differential. The car is now fitted with an Alpine head unit with USB, auxiliary, and Bluetooth connectivity. The vehicle will be accompanied by its original owner’s manuals, stamped service book, two key fobs, one standard key, the plastic emergency key, and the toolkit. The original 6-disc CD changer can be supplied if required. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: the paint is good, with some minor dents on the doors and the bonnet. Inside, there is slight wear present on the driver’s seat and steering wheel. The seller notes that both seatbelt holders are broken, but the car will come with a replacement pair. The seller is not aware of any electrical or mechanical faults. This Z3’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in October 2023 at 156,225 km by its retired motor mechanic owner. The work comprised of an engine oil and filter change, along with the replacement of the coolant, brake fluid, brake lines replaced with stainless steel, and both of the rear shock absorbers were replaced with KYB gas units. Prior to this, the car was serviced in May 2021 and August 2019, which were routine engine oil and filter changes and inspections, as per the service book. The seller notes that during their ownership the spark plugs, belts, coolant hoses, front control arms, struts, brake discs and brake pads were all replaced. This BMW Z3 Roadster 2.8 is a solid example of the engaging sports car, which is finished in a tasteful factory colour scheme. Freshly serviced by its long-term experienced mechanic owner, it is now ready to take to the open road, and should make a great entry point into open-top motoring. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. This vehicle’s VIN has been checked against the Australian Personal Property Securities Register, and there is no security interest or other registration kind logged against the serial number. This vehicle has been checked through the Austroads NEVDIS system, and there are no markers under the written-off or stolen databases.
