Seller's Notes

This W220-generation Mercedes-Benz S500 is a cosseting modern classic luxury saloon. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, delivering around 225kW to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. First registered in Hong Kong, it was imported to Australia in 2010. The odometer shows 117,484 km, though this is not warranted. This S500 is finished in the timeless combination of Brilliant Silver Metallic over a grey leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by chestnut wood trim inlays. It rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke lightweight alloy wheels, wrapped in mixed tyres. The specification includes the Parktronic system, electrically adjustable and heated front and rear seats, an electric tilt/slide glass sunroof, the Memory Package, the COMAND system with navigation, folding rear tables, front and rear air conditioning, and cruise control. Accompanying the vehicle will be the owner’s manual, build sheet, import approval documents, a first aid kit, and spare parts including a wheel, grille, COMAND unit, floor mats, and badges. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. The most recent service was reportedly completed in December 2024. During the seller’s ownership, the engine oil, oil filter, air level sensors, fuel pump and rear suspension struts have been replaced. This W220-era Mercedes-Benz S500 is a smart and eminently usable example of the marque’s millennium-era luxury saloon, which was imported to Australia from Hong Kong in 2010. Presented in a timeless colour scheme, with a potent V8 engine, a smooth-shifting automatic gearbox, and a very well-appointed cabin, it would make a neat addition to any collection, and a cosseting companion for retro daily driving, weekend jaunts, and continent-crossing road trips alike. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. This vehicle’s VIN has been checked against the Australian Personal Property Securities Register, and there is no security interest or other registration kind logged against the serial number. This vehicle has been checked through the Austroads NEVDIS system, and there are no markers under the written-off or stolen databases.
