Seller's Notes

A well-presented example of the handsome modern classic coupe, finished in a timeless colour scheme and with a desirable factory specification. Under the bonnet sits a potent 4.3-litre V8, producing 275bhp and 295lb-ft of torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. This example is currently registered in Australia, and has had only two owners from new. It benefits from a solid maintenance history as well as recently replaced tyres and a new OEM windscreen. The W208 was given a ‘facelift’ in 1999 for the 2000 model year, including a redesigned instrument cluster with larger multifunction display, a multi-function steering wheel, revised bumpers and new side skirts. This example is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with ‘Elegance’ front wing badges, over an Anthracite leather-trimmed cabin punctuated by burr walnut accents on the transmission tunnel, centre console, dashboard and door cards. It rides on its original set of 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Included in the factory specification are front and rear parking sensors, an electric glass sunroof, automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a multi-function steering wheel, and electrically adjustable front seats with three-position memory. A modern Alpine Bluetooth radio has been fitted, and the original Mercedes radio also accompanies the car. The original owner’s book pack and service book will also be included in the sale, along with various maintenance invoices, a warning triangle, and two keys. Factory specification: 220 Parktronic System 241 Electrically adjustable front seats with three-position memory 414 Electric tilt/slide glass sunroof 472 Electronic Stability Program 524 Paintwork preservation 581 Automatic climate control 673 High-capacity battery 731 Burr walnut interior trim 819 Boot-mounted CD changer 955 Equipment Package Elegance There is no known bodywork damage. The Brilliant Silver metallic paintwork is believed to be entirely original, and has recently been detailed and covered in a protective ceramic coating to preserve its impressive overall appearance. Only a few small imperfections are apparent, including some stone chips on the front bumper, bonnet and side skirts, and a couple of very minor blemishes around the door mirrors. The owner reports that the stone chips have been professionally touched in and the paint has been corrected. The alloy wheels are in great shape, with no obvious kerbing marks or other signs of damage. Moving inside, the leather-trimmed cabin is very smart, with a few modest signs of use commensurate with the age and mileage of the vehicle, including some creasing on the front seat bolsters, and few light scratches on the transmission tunnel wooden trim. The owner reports that the car drives very well and is free from any squeaks or rattles. There are no known electrical or mechanical faults. The car will undergo a roadworthiness test in readiness for its new owner. This CLK 430 was last serviced in August 2021 at 187,502 kilometres by Karworx, who changed the engine oil, filters and spark plugs. They also fitted a new genuine Mercedes-Benz windscreen, and performed a transmission and differential service. Prior to this, Karworx performed a service in September 2020 at 184,908 kilometres, including an engine oil and filter change. New Continental OEM Conti-Sport tyres were fitted within the last 2,000 kilometres, as well as a new OEM wiper mono-blade and floor mats. Having been well cared-for in the hands of just two owners from new, this handsome coupe is offered in sound mechanical and cosmetic order, and is reported to drive like a brand new car. Having been used and enjoyed as intended, this V8-powered Mercedes is now ready for its next owner, and would make an elegant daily driver or a comfortable and eminently capable long-distance cruiser.
