Seller's Notes

A generously specified modern era luxury saloon, finished in a smart all-black colour scheme. Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, delivering around 225kW / 302bhp and 339lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The car has been with its current owner for the last 12 years. This long-wheelbase example is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic over a black leather-trimmed cabin with burr walnut inlays. It rides on a set of later 20-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels, shod with Continental SportContact 6 tyres. Factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, a sunroof, a multifunction steering wheel, automatic headlights, dual-zone climate control, an electric rear sunblind, a central infotainment system, electrically adjustable front and rear seats, and heated and ventilated front seats with three-position memory. A quad exhaust has been installed. Accompanying the car is the owner’s handbook, service book, and spare wheel. The paintwork is said to be in fair condition, with some stone chips on the front end and wing mirrors, a crack on the passenger-side wing mirror, and slight road rash around the wheel arches. There is some scuffing on the bottom of the front bumper, small blemishes on the rear bumper as shown, and a small mark below the fuel lid. Moving inside, the cabin is in good shape, with some surface creasing on the leather upholstery but no excessive wear. The driver’s plastic seat base cover also has some scrathes and a small crack. Some ‘stickiness’ is visible on some of the switchgear, as well as minor wear on the gear selector and steering wheel in line with the mileage. One of the passenger doors is said to need a new handle. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults, though they note that the airbag and indicator warning lights sometimes illuminate. The last documented service on file was in February 2013 at 82,332 kilometres by Geelong City Motors. Geelong City Motors also carried out a service in April 2010 at 68,055 kilometres, and Mercedes-Benz of Melbourne serviced the car in December 2008 at 55,126 kilometres. This is a usable example of the W220-generation Mercedes-Benz S 500 L, fitted with a host of desirable factory-fitted equipment as well as a quad exhaust to further enhance its enchanting V8 soundtrack. With no known faults, it is reported to be ready to enjoy, where it should prove itself as a powerful, comfortable, and elegant daily driver or weekend family car.
