Seller's Notes

This 996-generation Porsche 911 GT2 is an appealing example of the rare and coveted modern classic performance car, offered with two owners from new, and supported by a strong maintenance history. Under the rear engine lid sits a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre ‘Mezger’ flat-six, delivering around 340kW to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. This 911 GT2 is one of only 1,287 examples produced over the model's four-year production run. This original Australian-market example has been with the seller and second owner for 16 years. This example has been driven and enjoyed as intended, and the odometer shows 108,484 Kms from new. It is noted that the car was involved in an accident in 2011, which damaged its left-hand side panels and triggered the airbag. The damage was then repaired by the technicians at Porsche Centre Melbourne. Based on the 911 Turbo, the GT2 was 10 percent more powerful, courtesy of its ‘M96/70 S’ flat-six equipped with the ‘VarioCam Plus’ system, uprated turbochargers, a modified exhaust, and improved electronics. The model also featured a race-derived six-speed manual gearbox featuring the GT3 RS lubrication system, a friction plate, and a limited-slip differential, alongside stiffened suspension, and a 20mm lower ride height. Cosmetically, the GT2 featured a deeper front bumper and lip spoiler, and a large rear spoiler. This example is finished in the elegant shade of Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather-trimmed interior, featuring a body-coloured transmission tunnel. It rides on the correct set of 18-inch aluminium monobloc ‘Turbo Twist’ alloy wheels, framing yellow brake callipers over carbon-ceramic discs, and shod in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres. The factory specification includes a green top-tinted windscreen, cruise control, white dials, automatic climate control, a Porsche CDR-220 stereo, and electrically adjustable ‘hard-back’ front seats. Please note: the cherished and highly fitted plate ‘996GT’ is included in the sale. The car comes with two keys, a spare key, the owner’s manuals with a black leather wallet, the stamped service booklet, and the most recent maintenance invoice. The seller notes an accident that affected the left-hand side of the car and released the airbags in 2011. This required the left-hand side panels to be repaired, and the passenger-side window replaced by Porsche Centre Melbourne. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: sections of the interior were reupholstered due to the airbag release, though the upholstery could not be replaced like-for-like, so there is a very slight difference. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults with the car, and they state that there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. The car’s last REGO test was conducted on 9 July 2022 at 108,411 Kms, and was recorded as a clean pass. This 911 GT2’s most recent maintenance was carried out in July 2022 at 108,411 Kms by European Car specialist MHA Euro, which consisted of an annual service, including an engine oil and filter change, a full inspection, new brake fluid, the headlight switch being replaced, and a cooling system service. Another annual service was performed in September 2021 by MHA Euro.
