Seller's Notes

This Mini Cooper S JCW GP is a rare limited-run hot hatch; one of just 2,000 examples delivered worldwide. Under the bonnet is the 1.6-litre supercharged inline-four, which sends 160kW to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This generation model was not offered to the Australian market, and this right-hand-drive Japanese-market car is thought to be one of just three privately imported examples currently in Australia. The odometer shows 157,011 Km. Created as a focused, lightweight version of the Cooper S, the John Cooper Works GP did away with the standard car’s rear seats in favour of a stiff brace bar, helping to reduce the car’s weight by approximately 50kg. Furthermore, the car’s ride height was lowered by 10mm, a limited-slip differential was fitted on the front axle and an aggressive aerodynamic kit was added, including a large carbon-fibre rear wing. As with all GPs, this example is finished in the appealing hue of Thunder Blue Metallic, with a silver roof, red door mirror caps, and Panther Black leather upholstery on its adjustable Recaro sport seats. It rides on the correct set of 18-inch alloy wheels, which are finished in black with diamond-cut faces, framing red JCW-branded brake callipers and wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tyres. Equipment includes air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and the factory-fitted CD radio. The Mini is accompanied by its owner’s pack, Japanese service history, a collection of supporting documentation, two keys and tools. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: there are some stone chips, a paint imperfection and a small rust spot on the bonnet. Inside, there is minor discolouration on the driver’s seat bolster. The last maintenance was at approximately 157,000 Km, which included new brake discs and pads and fluid changes. The seller states that the Mini is accompanied by Japanese service history. This Mini Cooper S JCW GP is an exciting limited-production hot hatch; number 1716 of only 2,000 cars delivered worldwide, thought to be one of just three privately imported examples currently in Australia. Boasting a 160kW supercharged engine, a limited-slip differential, and a number of aerodynamic and weight-saving enhancements; this stripped-back factory special should prove a joy to drive on its next owner’s favourite roads. The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy. Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section. For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details. This vehicle’s VIN has been checked against the Australian Personal Property Securities Register, and there is no security interest or other registration kind logged against the serial number.
