A timelessly specified, one-owner example of Mercedes-Benz’s rare AMG-tuned modern classic roadster, with impressively low mileage from new. Under the bonnet sits a mighty 5.4-litre V8 engine, delivering 355bhp and 376lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. This R171-generation SLK 55 AMG’s odometer displays a mere 29,828 kilometres (18,534 miles), which is supported by the car’s maintenance history. Though built in 2008, this SLK 55 AMG is a 2009 model year vehicle. This SLK 55 AMG is finished in Calcite White over a black leather-trimmed cabin with high-gloss carbon-fibre trim strips and Anthracite synthetic suede inserts on the upper seat bolster. It rides on 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, shod with recently fitted Pirelli P Zero tyres. Factory-fitted equipment includes front and rear parking assistance, automatic xenon headlights, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, climate control, heated and electrically adjustable seats with three-position memory, ‘Airscarf’ neck-warmers, a premium Harman/Kardon sound system, voice control, and central infotainment screen with satellite navigation. The car is accompanied by the original owner’s book pack, service book, various receipts and invoices, toolkit, spare wheel, and tyre inflator. There is no bodywork damage. The original Calcite White paintwork is in fair condition, with a few stone chips on the front end, a couple of minor scuffs on the underside of the front bumper, scuffs on the door mirror covers, small indentations and chips on the passenger door, an area of broken sill trim behind the driver’s side front wheel arch, and a mark on the boot lid. A couple of small scuffs can be seen on the wheels, and the tyres are in excellent condition having been replaced at 29,255 kilometres. Moving inside, the original leather cabin presents well. There is a little wear on the driver’s seat bolster, and pieces of the carbon-fibre trim from the dashboard and the passenger door card have come away from their backing, but will be supplied. No mechanical or electrical faults have been detected, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. This SLK 55 was last serviced in December 2021 at 29,255 kilometres by Accelerate Automotive, who changed the engine oil and filter, fitted four new Pirelli tyres and carried out a wheel alignment, removed and repaired the cylinder heads, and replaced the roof relays. Prior to this, Lube Mobile carried out an oil change in September 2021 at 29,241 kilometres and K&G Automotive Services replaced the engine oil, oil filter and brake fluid in January 2016 at 28,224 kilometres. Offered in sound mechanical condition and serviced less than 600 kilometres ago, this SLK 55 AMG is ready to relish on the open road, and would make a wonderful fair-weather cruising companion.
