This 987.2-generation Cayman S is a very usable example of Porsche’s acclaimed mid-engined coupe, treated to some subtle modifications to enhance its performance. Power comes from a 3.4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six, producing up to 235 kW and driving the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission operated by a shift lever or wheel-mounted buttons. As well as the PDK gearbox, the later 987 also benefited from other model improvements introduced over the production run. This particular car features uprated suspension and brakes. The car comes with a stamped-up service book and invoices to back up the work. The odometer shows 164,061 kilometres. Finished all in black – including the alloy wheels and darkened light lenses – this example looks very purposeful indeed, a mood that’s only intensified by the fitment of lowering springs. Inside, this Cayman is trimmed in black leather with white contrasting stitching, continuing the monochrome vibe of the vehicle’s exterior. Equipment includes electric seats with memory function for the driver, electric windows and mirrors, climate control, cruise control and an electric rear spoiler. The PCM infotainment system also includes sim card phone connectivity, built-in satellite navigation and a CD player. This particular example has also been specified with the desirable Sport Chrono package, which includes switches that adjust the throttle and gearchange mapping, as well as a lap timer on the top of the dashboard. To further elevate the dynamics, this car has been fitted with Eibach lowering springs, plus Zimmerman brake discs and pads. The car has also been treated to XPEL paint protection. It comes complete with handbook and service books. Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition. Specific notes from the seller include: a small stone chip in the front window, and some very small dents and defects. These include light stone chipping on the front bumper, and a spot on the front bumper that has been pressed on causing some light lines in the paint. There is also some very mild peeling on a couple of interior trim pieces. The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults, aside from the horn, which has lost its high-tone sound. The last maintenance was in February 2023 at 162,285 km, which was a major service, carried out by Porsche Centre Townsville. This work included replacement of the engine oil and filter, air filter, PDK transmission oil, spark plugs, drive belt, brake fluid, tyre sealing compound, and the pollen filter.
