This McLaren 650S GT3 is a phenomenally capable and imposing modern British race car. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, delivering around 367kW to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential manual transmission as required by the FIA’s BOP regulations. A new engine has been installed with under 1,300 km of use, and a new gearbox with less than 3,300 km. Last raced at Phillip Island in 2018, this car has since been privately owned and seen minimal use during private track days. Build year: 2016 Unveiled at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the McLaren 650S GT3 was produced to contest the GT3 championships from the 2015 season. The GT3 was based on the road-going 650S and used the same lightweight carbon-fibre MonoCell chassis, but featured notable aerodynamic and cooling enhancing upgrades, including a large front splitter, larger air intakes, all-new widebody carbon-fibre bodywork, reprofiled side air intakes, and a fixed carbon-fibre rear wing. Further upgrades include a 52mm wider track, a race-tuned suspension system, newly designed forged aluminium wheels, a new braking system with monoblock six-piston front callipers, four-piston rear callipers and ventilated brake discs, as well as an FIA-approved roll cage, a bespoke motorsport digital dashboard display, and a six-speed sequential gearbox. Chassis number 24, this example is finished in black, with striking green accents, a black windscreen strip with ‘McLaren’ lettering, ‘Tag Heuer’ and ‘Mobil 1’ emblems on the sills, and a carbon-fibre front splitter, bonnet vents, door mirror housings, C-pillar panels and rear wing. It rides on a set of 18-inch multi-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in satin-black with green accents, framing black AP Racing brake callipers and wrapped in Pirelli tyres. Inside, the race-focused cabin features a black cloth-trimmed FIA-approved McLaren GT developed Corbeau race seat fitted with a six-point race harness, and a carbon-fibre centre console and doors. Equipment includes lightweight polycarbonate sliding windows, a three-spoke OMP transport steering wheel with a Krontec quick-release kit, unique 650S GT3 steering wheel inspired by the wheel design seen in the McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 race car, a Schroth Racing safety net, a VBOX Australia Racelogic data logger, an FIA-approved fire suppression system, AP Racing pedals, air conditioning, a heated screen, a rain light and a carbon clutch. The car will be supplied with its its maintenance record, component lifing records, its mileage record, its CAMS vehicle logbook, its MSA/CAMS safety cage certificate, the original steering wheel and some spare parts including two sets of wheels, Krontec air lance, Krontec high stands, spare brake pads, a fuel churn, and a custom car cover.
