DB9 (2004 to 2016)

Produced from 2004 to 2016, the Aston Martin DB9 was the first model built at the Gaydon headquarters and the first to utilize the "VH" (Vertical/Horizontal) bonded aluminum architecture. Replacing the DB7, it was powered exclusively by a 5.9L naturally aspirated V12, which evolved from 335kW (450hp) in early models to 380kW (510hp) in later versions, and up to 403kW (540hp) in the final DB9 GT. It was available as a Coupé or a "Volante" convertible, paired with either a six-speed ZF automatic (Touchtronic) or a rare six-speed manual. In the 2026 Australian market, the DB9 is highly desirable as the "gold standard" of modern-era Astons, with the buyer pool consisting of purists who value its Henrik Fisker design and the raw, non-turbocharged V12 soundtrack. While early cars (2004–2008) are more affordable entry points, they are more prone to coil pack issues and interior "squeaks," whereas post-2013 facelift models with carbon-ceramic brakes and the "AM11" engine are the most sought-after. Australian market values reflect this hierarchy: early examples typically sit between $85,000 and $115,000 AUD, while late-model DB9 GTs and "Bond Edition" variants can command between $170,000 and $230,000 AUD.
