MARKET ANALYSIS
E93 (2007 to 2013)

Produced from 2007 to 2013, the BMW E93 was the convertible variant of the E9x-generation 3 Series (non-M) and marked a major shift by replacing the traditional soft top with a retractable hardtop, allowing the car to function as both a coupe and a convertible. Offered exclusively as a two-door hardtop convertible, the E93 was available with a wide range of inline-four and inline-six petrol and diesel engines, with popular Australian-market models including the 325i, 330i, and later turbocharged 335i, all driving the rear wheels. Compared to coupe and sedan counterparts, the E93 prioritised refinement and cruising comfort, with added weight offset by strong six-cylinder performance and high equipment levels. Total E93 production is estimated at around 300,000 units globally. In the Australian market, the E93 was officially sold and remains attractive as an open-top grand tourer rather than a pure sports car, with values driven by six-cylinder engines, M Sport trim, manual transmissions (rare), roof mechanism condition, and service history, as clean examples become increasingly scarce.
