MARKET ANALYSIS
LCI (2017 to 2018)

Facelifted version introduced for the 2017 model year, representing the final and most refined evolution of the F80 before production ended in 2018. While the core formula remained unchanged—BMW’s S55 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six driving the rear wheels via 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT—the LCI brought subtle but important updates including revised LED headlights and taillights, updated interior trim and infotainment, and minor calibration improvements that sharpened overall drivability. Mechanically, power outputs remained the same, but LCI cars benefitted from incremental chassis and software refinements developed over the F80’s lifecycle. Total F80 M3 production is estimated at roughly 40,000–45,000 units globally, with LCI cars accounting for a smaller portion of that figure due to the short 2017–2018 run. In the Australian market, F80 M3 LCI examples are typically preferred over pre-LCI cars, with buyers valuing the updated lighting, interior improvements, and end-of-cycle build quality, and prices driven by manual transmission preference, Competition or CS specification, mileage, condition, and originality.
