The Ferrari 308 was produced from 1975 to 1985 and established Ferrari’s mid-engined V8 formula that would define the brand for decades. Styled by Pininfarina, the 308 was powered by a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated V8, initially carbureted and later fuel-injected, with power outputs ranging from 240 to 255 hp depending on variant. It was offered in GTB (coupe) and GTS (targa) forms, all fitted with a 5-speed gated manual transmission, and later evolved into notable versions such as the fibreglass (vetroresina) GTB, Quattrovalvole, and GTBi/GTSi. Ferrari produced approximately 12,000 examples of the 308 across all variants. In the Australian market, the 308 is seen as a true entry-level classic Ferrari, valued for its period charm and iconic status, with early carbureted and vetroresina cars attracting the strongest collector interest while condition, originality, and documented servicing remain key value drivers.
