MARKET ANALYSIS
XM (1964 to 1965)

Introduced in 1964, the Ford Falcon XM was the second Australian-built Falcon and represented an important step forward in adapting the model to local conditions. Available in sedan, wagon, panel van, and utility body styles, the XM featured incremental improvements over the earlier XL, including revised suspension, strengthened components, and subtle styling updates. Power came from a range of inline-six engines, as V8 options had not yet been introduced to the Falcon lineup. Approximately 90,000–95,000 XM Falcons were produced before the model was replaced in 1965 by the more robust XP Falcon. In the Australian market, the XM is valued for its place in Falcon history, with demand focused on original examples, commercial body styles, and period-correct restorations, as surviving cars have become increasingly scarce.
