MARKET ANALYSIS
Carrera S (2012 to 2016)

Introduced for the 2012 model year, the Porsche 911 Carrera S (991.1) sat above the base Carrera as the performance-focused naturally aspirated option of the early 991 range, briefly overlapping with the final year of the outgoing 997.2. Power came from a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six producing 395 hp at 7,400 rpm, paired with either a 7-speed manual or 7-speed PDK, delivering a noticeable step up in pace and response while retaining the classic high-revving character many enthusiasts value. Offered in Coupe and Cabriolet body styles, the 991.1 Carrera S benefitted from the new aluminium-intensive 991 platform, improving handling, refinement, and everyday usability over earlier generations. While Porsche does not publish exact Carrera S build numbers, it formed a significant portion of the approximately 233,000 total 991-series cars produced worldwide, with production ending in 2016 ahead of the turbocharged 991.2 update for 2017. In the Australian market, the 991.1 Carrera S is particularly sought after as the last naturally aspirated Carrera S, with demand strongest for manual coupes, and values influenced by transmission, body style, mileage, condition, and specification, as buyers increasingly differentiate NA 991s from their later turbocharged successors.
