Seller's Notes
Built as a faithful tribute to the 1967 Ford Shelby GT500 seen in the 2000 film Gone in 60 Seconds , this magnificent classic muscle car is a work of art. Under the hood lies an uprated 427 cubic inch Stroker engine capable of up to 620hp. Shifting is via a T-5 manual transmission with a stage-three heavy duty clutch. The original car was imported to Australia in 2005 and has been in the hands of a single owner for the past 16 years. This car was built by an enthusiast over several years, and has only testing miles on the motor. An original 1967 Fastback, this Mustang was originally built at the Metuchen, New Jersey factory, and was specified with the optional 200hp 289ci V8 and is a factory 4spd car. In recent years it has been transformed into a stunning homage to the film car. This fully custom build has a raft of features, incorporating the aforementioned highly developed motor, and rounded out with a nitrous bottle offering a 100-150hp boost complete with ‘Go Baby Go!’ button on the gear shifter, a stainless quad system exhaust with custom alloy tips, lowered suspension, and comforts like air conditioning with hidden controls, Kenwood Bluetooth head unit and a wireless control cut-out for a quieter exhaust note. The car will be sold with its original USA Title and import paper. Panels, exterior trim and original ‘Eleanor’ GT40 17-inch wheels are excellent. A huge amount of effort was put into perfecting the Dupont Pepper Grey paintwork. Only new Genuine Ford Tooled metal panels were used in the build. The car was given five base coats and five clear coats before it was lightly wet sanded and given another coat of clear coat to ensure that there are no seam lines on the stripes. This was left to harden for four weeks before a final wet sanding and buff to mirror finish. Having seen only minimal use, the car presents as it did upon completion of the work. The original Style Mustang Deluxe interior with fold-down rear seat has been re-trimmed and customised to match the look of ‘the car in the film. Seats were finished in custom soft black leather with original Mustang stitching and GT500E embossing, and entry door lighting representing the horse emblem was installed. Like the exterior, it remains in pristine order. The car presents no electrical issues. The speedometer reads three to four miles per hour fast and the odometer was not at zero at the time it was fitted. Recently completed and only driven for testing, the car has required no additional maintenance or service work since the build and conversion. It is recommended that the engine is re-tuned after 2,000 to 3,000 miles. A work of passion and dedication presented in immaculate condition, this custom 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT500E is a wonderful tribute to the famous ‘Eleanor’ film car. It boasts an absorbing driving experience with nitrous components included to provide an extra genuine power-enhancing boost on tap, while its remarkably faithful appearance will turn heads wherever it goes.
